South Florida Access: Native American brothers bring home MTV music award

The inaugural episode of South Florida Access features two MTV Video Music Award winning musicians from the Seminole Tribe of Florida: Spencer and Doc Battiest. The brothers discuss their start in music with host Jay Valle as well working with Taboo, a member of the Black Eyed Peas.

Taboo worked with seven indigenous artists on “Stand Up/ Stand N Rock #NODAPL” about the Dakota Access pipeline. The track won the MTV Video Music Award for “Best Fight Against the System” in 2017.
