Around 500,000 people from all over the country gathered in Washington D.C. to demand the government for stricter gun regulations.
Hundreds of students from Stoneman Douglas High School congregated at the JW Marriott Hotel on Pennsylvania Ave. They crossed the street and met with other protesters at the Freedom Plaza. From there they walked toward the Capitol where the March for Our Lives rally was held.
Young activists were supported by people of all ages and ethnicities. Signs displayed infinite messages pushing for banning of assault weapons, targeting politicians and the NRA, and also remembering the victims of mass shootings.
The massive mobilization of people during March for Our Lives marks an unprecedented event in American history. It remains to be seen what effect it will have on November’s midterm election.
