October is coming up and it’s nearly time for costumes, candy and spooky decorations. Despite the fact it’s still September, far more tricks than treats hide in every corner of the state. Here’s a look at some of the Floridian weirdness that never ceases to amaze us:

According to the Flager County Sheriff’s Office, drivers and bicyclists saw a naked man running loose at a Palm Coast Chick-Fil-A. Cory Hatzl, 30, was seen chasing a bicyclist then tried to start a fight. WKMG reported that Hatzl stripped naked while he screamed, “You’re gay for looking at my penis.” Hatzl was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Miami Herald

Broward prosecutor Stacey Honowitz is accused of shoplifting $42.93 in makeup from an Aventura Publix. Honowitz was charged with a misdemeanor and suspended from her job until the end of the investigation. Jayne Weintraub, her attorney, said that the incident was a “big misunderstanding.” South Florida Sun Sentinel 

While with his work crew, officials said inmate Taylor Fender slipped away to purchase a sweet tea. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said that while the crew was working, Fender strolled away, stopping at a Family Dollar for some clothes before deciding to quench his thirst. A deputy arrested Fender, and the beverage from Poppi’s Restaurant was left on the counter. News 95.5

Authorities said that a Florida man threw a good Samaritan off a 30-foot bridge for trying to break-up an argument. Anthony Mascaro and Stephanie Ellis were walking on the Main Street Bridge when they met Derrick Goodin. Authorities said that Goodin started screaming and threw Ellis’ bike over the bridge. When Mascaro tried to stop the fight, Goodin threw him head-first over the bridge. According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Mascaro only suffered a cut under his eye. Goodin was arrested and held without bond. WPTV

A teen fired a gun at Checkers employees in Fort Lauderdale after being told the restaurant was closed. One employee was shot in the leg. The Broward Sheriff’s Office said that the teen will be charged as an adult for attempted murder. WCTV
