As Floridians prepare for the upcoming election, the Sunshine State can’t escape the weird news that happens each and every day. This week is no different.
North Port Police arrested a man on Saturday when residents called about a naked man banging on their house with a shovel. When police arrived they tried to apprehend the man, later identified as Viktor Revega, with a K-9. Revega reportedly punched the dog and kicked at police until he was eventually arrested. ABC 7 WWSB
A Florida man was spotted posing as a human boat hitch over the weekend. A woman, who witnessed the act, followed the car for about 45 seconds where the man was hanging out of the trunk holding onto the boat trailer around the Sebring area. An image of the man has been floating around social media since. WFLA 8
Boynton Beach Police reunited a man with his $150,000 prosthetic arm on Monday after it had been stolen on Sunday. Police spent about 30 minutes around the Stonehaven community looking for the arm, which was found in bushes within the neighborhood. No arrests have been made as yet. ABC Local 10
David William Healy was arrested last Wednesday in St. Petersburg after beating an alligator with a shovel. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said that Healy used a fishing line and raw chicken to attract the gator. Police say the gator got away safely and Healy is being held at the county jail with a $2,000 bail. Tampa Bay Times
David Fulghum, an Oviedo man, fought off a bear near his house on Tuesday morning after the bear had attacked his Yorkshire Terrier named Gator. Fulghum said the bear had Gator in his mouth. “I just went airborne and dropkicked [the bear],” said Fulghum. ABC WFTV 9
An ethics panel found probable cause against Lantana Mayor David Stewart last Wednesday, after he was accused of soliciting sex from a female resident. In return, Stewart promised to add speed bumps in the woman’s neighborhood. The speed bumps were approved in 2015. Northwest Florida Daily News
