Florida Believe it or Not: Man accused of stealing $45,000 worth of socks; Creepy clown sightings; Woman stabs fiancé over orgy plan, say police

As fall descends on the Sunshine State, the autumn feel in the air is upon us. Leaves are falling, temperatures have dipped into the 80s and Halloween decorations are being put up. But before the trick-or-treat feels get to you, here are a few stories that have been more tricks than treats:

  • Police said Raydel Fernandez, 32 stole over $45,000 worth of socks from a Medley warehouse. Surveillance videos captured Fernandez and another man stealing a tractor and trailer, authorities said. He has been charged with grand theft and burglary. Local 10 
  • People are dressing up as clowns and scaring locals in the Ocala area. Florida is not the only state with people with apparent “Poltergeist” fever dreams, as evil clowns have been spotted in Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania well as in both North and South Carolina. Tampa Bay Times 
  • A Fort Lauderdale woman was hospitalized after jumping onto front windshield of a purse snatcher’s Cadillac DeVille. Broward Sheriff Office officials said that the man was captured on video stealing the woman’s $300 black Kate Spade purse. Janelle Irene Della-Libera, 32, tried to pursue the thief but fell over and the car ran over her left ankle. Sun Sentinel
  • An argument turned bloody after a 19-year-old woman stabbed her fiancé  following a fracas over a sexual encounter, authorities said. A sheriff’s deputy said Kelci Perkins and Michale McCabe had an argument regarding an orgy while intoxicated in the early morning hours in in their home in the Tampa area. Perkins has been charged with aggravated assault. The Smoking Gun
