Former Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will be honored for their advocacy of cancer care and research as part of a weeklong conference in downtown Miami.

The award ceremony, which will also honor doctors, scientists and other leaders in the field, will take place on Jan. 23 from 7 to 9 pm. The Bidens’ attendance has not yet been confirmed, said organizers, who added a representative will be on hand to accept the award if they are unable to come.

The 13th World Stem Cell Summit, set to take place from Jan. 22 to 25 at the Hyatt Regency, features numerous panels and speakers who work on the cutting-edge of cancer research.

“This conference is like a 1995 conference of the internet,” said Bernard Siegel, the founder and executive director of the summit. “This is going to have a huge impact on the future of medicine.”

Tickets to the award dinner can be purchased for $150.
