Since Sandy Hook: Following up on non-accidental school shootings in Florida

Since Sandy Hook: Agape Christian Academy – Oct. 3, 2013

A school shooting occurred at Agape Christian Academy in Pine Hills, Florida, on Oct. 3, 2013, resulting in two wounded.   The shooter, who did not attend the school, shot a 16-year-old football player in the hip and a 17-year-old boy, who also did not attend Agape, according to WESH 2 News. The identities of the victims were not released to the public.  By Gabriel PobleteSouth Florida

Since Sandy Hook: Dreyfoos High School – June 19, 2013

On June 19, 2013, Javier Burgos shot and killed two fellow custodians at Dreyfoos High School in West Palm Beach, Florida.   The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office identified the Colombia-born Burgos as a suspect in the shooting as early as 2014 but did not issue a warrant for his arrest until 2016. By that time Burgos had already fled the country to his native home.   By Jaylin HawkinsSouth Florida News Service @SFNS_News • Facebook • Instagram
